Meet Our Team

We would like to introduce the humans behind,

Full Bush Babes!

First up we have Fish! Or Fifi! Or Ephemera! Or The Brat Prince if you Nasty 😜

This multidimensional powerhouse has been planting trees since 2011 🎉 During the off-season, Fish throws themselves into their passion for performance; be it burlesque, drag, $tr¡pp¡ng, or costume designing for all of the above. ♡ Their passion for self expression through movement and to connecting humans to themselves, but particularly their bodies, in positive ways has lead them to a variety of different vocations including teaching yoga and working as a certified hypnotherapist. Planting has given Fish not only the time and financial freedom to pursue their creative goals and dreams but also helped to build the foundation of physical strength which lends itself to letting their body tell the stories she creates with performance art ♡

Introducing our next babe, meet Irina!

She has been planting since 2017 when she came out west from Thunder Bay, Ontario and fell in love with the province and tree planting! Treeplanting allowed her to gain financial independence as well as confidence in herself and her ability to do hard things and love it. The people and especially the women whose friendships she’s gained through this work inspire her to be her truest self no matter what that looks like. When she’s not planting you can find her studying herbal medicine, creating art and travelling :)

Next get to know Lina!

Meet Lina! 🌿 She’s been planting on and off since 2016, balancing seasons in the dirt for ones spent swapping her shovel for acupuncture needles or the stage. Whether she’s working as an acupuncturist or performing as a ~spicy dancer~, Lina is deeply passionate about movement, embodiment, and creative expression.

Freshly relocated to Vancouver, she’s finding new ways to stay connected to the outdoors while embracing city life. Tree planting, in all its body-breaking, soul-shaping glory, has always been that thing that keeps her grounded for the year ahead. And every season, she flirts with the idea of going back, like an ex she knows is no good but maybe has changed. Though she misses the woods, she hopes this calendar will keep her tied to the wild and wonderful world of planting.

Finally learn about our newest member to the team in her own words Mado!

Hello Full Bush Babes Community,

My name is Mado (she/her), and I’m so excited to be stepping into the Community Engagement & Creative Coordinator role! I’ve just completed my Bachelor of Social Work and I’m heading into my fifth tree planting season. I have a background in harm reduction, as well as working alongside people living with disabilities.

One of the biggest learnings I carry with me; from my studies, community work, and time in the bush is the systems of control that sustain a culture of domination must be named because they have the power to become revered as neutral everyday experiences. The bush being a male dominated, therefore male oriented, and thus a patriarchal industry is an example of this.

Visibility is an essential tool in interrupting sexism: amplifying voices, raising awareness, and making invisibilized harms visible. The photoshoots and calendar actively counter invisibility, creating space for women, femmes, queers, and diverse bodies in silviculture to be seen and celebrated. Coming together, taking up space, and opening up conversations around sex work and resistance, both in and out of the bush. Cultivating empowerment that comes from celebrating our bodies: the very engines that make this work possible.

I’m so excited to work alongside this community. I’ll be planning sexy, fun, and hottie shoots, co-creating spaces where different expressions of empowerment can exist.

In solidarity,
To be seen, heard, celebrated, connected, and loved
