bask in the brilliance that our ever evolving feminine presence has in male dominated industries like Silviculture and Reclamation, while supporting and uplifting one another and our individual beauty and uniqueness. To celebrate our hard working bodies, for all we put them through for this crazy job!
Welcome to the Full Bush Babes Movement!
Every year we put together a calendar which features the babes of Silviculture! The focus in on celebrating the feminine and these hard working bush babes by creating an opportunity for them to express themselves and their unique beauty and creative gifts! The photos are submitted through an industry wide; all inclusive, contest which opens in the early part of the planting season and closes mid August. Then all the submissions are put up to public vote (last year almost 500 people participated in voting!) and the top 12 photos become our Full Bush Babes Calendar.
Our calendar project is dedicated to raising funds and awareness for Peers, an organization committed to harm reduction and community resources for sex workers on Vancouver Island. We believe in celebrating the power of the body and sexuality while advocating for the rights and recognition of individuals in the sex work industry.
By purchasing our calendar, you're not just acquiring a beautiful collection of imagery, but you're also contributing directly to Peers' mission. We're proud to announce that 100% of the proceeds from calendar sales will go directly to supporting Peers and their vital work.
Our motivation stems from a desire to challenge stereotypes and misconceptions surrounding women and femmes, particularly those in sex work, as well as those in male-dominated industries. We firmly believe that expressing and claiming one's sexuality should never diminish the respect and dignity they deserve as human beings. We believe it is through empowerment, fostering confidence building, and community that the changes we want to see in the industry, (and in the world as whole); to make camp life a safer and more liberated place, can be accomplished. There is an unbelievable power in giving people the opportunity to take up space, be witnessed, and also to get together to celebrate ourselves and one another in community. That is what we are fostering with our photoshoots and through the calendar.
Last spring we officially became a non-profit society and has plans for expanding programming to influence industry standards, and create more change to allow women better access to training and education to help them move into more positions of management and power, as well as trying to address problematic power imbalances which lead to mistreatment of women, particularly young or inexperienced women, in planting camps. Your support and input matters allot at this critical time of growth for our project!

It is an innovative, multi-service grassroots agency established by, with, and for sex workers in 1995. Through direct service delivery and community partnerships, Peers provides an array of outreach and drop in harm reduction and support services alongside education and employment training for current and former sex workers, in Victoria and on Vancouver Island."
